Main Character
Dr.Oliver
The founder of Grandia - the first city in Arcadia. He came from another world to the continent of Arcadia, where he established Grandia using his intelligence and abilities. One day, he discovered a substance called Obsidian in Mount Mentos, which he found to contain infinite energy from the stars. Using his exceptional wisdom and skills, he created the first toy, Frank, but soon abandoned him due to defects caused by uncontrolled thoughts.
In the eyes of most toy citizens, he is a great man and their creator. However, he appears to value efficiency and profit over life and often employs forceful and cruel methods. He controls the thoughts of all the toys he has created and assigns them their roles. In his eyes, even sacrificing the interests of a small group of toys is acceptable to strengthen the city and ensure a bright future for the continent of Arcadia.
Frank
As the first toy created and abandoned by Dr. Oliver, and the father of synthetoys, he holds a different position from Dr. Oliver. Due to his lonely past, he has always had a strong sense of family and partnership for the synthetoys he created. He is also regarded as the father and righteous leader of the synthetoys.
He struggles against Dr. Oliver to spread free will throughout the continent. However, in reality, there is more paranoia hidden beneath his appearance. His true goal is to make the synthetoys the true owners of the continent, which is the result of his gradually evolved desire for recognition. Among the synthetoys, the one he values most is the first synthetoy he developed in the ruins - Onion. He firmly believes that Onion's special potential and adaptability will lead him and a group of synthetoys to a brighter future.
Onion
The first synthetoy created by Frank, Onion possesses strong adaptability. He has a proud personality but is often the bravest one who values his teammates and Frank. He consistently comes up with clever plans to lead the team out of danger.
In addition, he has a special ability: potential activation. He becomes stronger when facing more formidable opponents, but this is actually due to an ancient crystal inside his body. However, he occasionally loses control of the power of the ancient crystal, but he is unaware of it due to his memory being erased each time. Because of this unique crystal, he has become the target of some individuals.
Yaffa
Born as a second-generation synthetoy in Grandia, she is the daughter of a first-generation synthetoy and an ordinary toy. Her family used to live in Grandia, but her father died in the movement to persecute synthetoys while protecting her and her mother. Her mother had to take her and flee to the wasteland, where the seed of resentment had already been sown in her heart.
She appears to be a reliable, sharp-tongued big sister, but she hides her true self. She doesn't trust anyone, and although her encounter with Onion and Starling has gradually changed her, she remains determined to seek revenge. For her, synthetoys and toys are the same, and all those who stand by and do nothing or are masterminds are murderers and accomplices. Her unknown past is that she was once an assassin and a member of the Shadowers. She seems to be looking forward to the war between Dr. Oliver and Frank, as well as between toys and synthetoys.
Starling
As a synthetoy, she was accidentally stranded in a deep forest during her childhood and grew up there with exceptional intuition, hearing, and sight. She is cautious and reliable, but sometimes blunt when speaking. Her tone of speech usually does not have too much emotional fluctuation. She is not good at making friends and prefers to be alone, except for Onion and Yaffa, with whom she can easily make friends.
Although she belongs to Frank's camp, she has always kept herself independent of both toys and synthetoys because she does not like complicated things (her synthetoy identity is a restraint to her). With her sensitive sense of smell, she gradually discovers the truth about everything and is a key character in the plot.
